Seven Gloucestershire councils to unite in bid to save £21m a year
Exciting news for our county! It looks like all seven Gloucestershire councils are set to merge into one super council, aiming to save a whopping £21 million each year. This big change is planned to take effect from April 2028, so get ready for a new era of local governance!
The new council for the whole of Gloucestershire will come into operation in April 2028.
